Japan 2019 — Part 5
The Part 5 is from Kada (加太), Tomoga Island (友ヶ島), and last two from Tokyo (東京).
Kada was really exotic place place to visit. A small fishing village without anything special. Really popular holiday location for Japanese senior citizens and we stood out more than normally.
Kada is not a place for people who don't know basic unwritten rules and basics of the language. We were looked weirdly, but the people warmed up after showing them that we know how to act properly. There were close to none western and Chinese tourists.
While spending a day on a beach, we helped local students with their yearly task of cleaning up the trash. Afterwards a group of elementary school students and their teacher came to talk to us. We had a little English lecture with all the basic phrases they had learned at school. After encountering so much suspicion from adults, it was hearth-warming to have such moment with local youth.
From Kada we took a ferry to Tomoga Island, which had an old World War 2 battery base to counter possible attack from the sea. We spent night camping there and took the morning ferry back.
The old childrens playhall from Tokyo is called Smart Ball Mimatsukan (スマートボール三松館). It's open weekends and holidays, if you are interested in visiting there.
